THE KING WILLIAM
STREET PROJECT
 

Our focus has been on three 'T's: Trees, Tubes and Traffic; each set in the context of our local community and our shared vision for the future of the Ward. We were pleased to see the completion of the first phase earlier this year which included improved pedestrianisation and greening, a core part of our Pledge to the Ward. 

At the Wardmote and through our newsletters, we have provided details of the Candlewick Pedestrian Priority project (King William Street and the Monument junction) and our determined effort to improve foot and vehicular movements in and around the Ward. This is following our successful bid for environmental improvements to King William Street, a project which has delivered improved pedestrian access and experience. This was delivered alongside the first new trees in our Ward since 1898, new seating and general accessibility improvements and a much improved traffic flow.
